A Global Runway for Nigeria’s Creatives: “Nigeria Everywhere” Competition Opens Doors to the World

For countless Nigerian fashion designers, the dream of showcasing their work on the global stage just got real.

The Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy has announced a bold new initiative—“Nigeria Everywhere: The Creative Collection”—a nationwide competition designed to spotlight homegrown talent and celebrate Nigeria’s cultural wealth through fashion.

The timing couldn’t be better. As African creativity gains momentum globally, the competition offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for emerging designers to take center stage at the upcoming 68th UN Tourism Commission for Africa (CAF) in June 2025.

“This is not just a fashion competition. It’s about putting Nigerian creativity in the spotlight where it belongs,” says Dr. Nneka Ikem Anibeze, Special Assistant on Media & Publicity. “We’re taking our story, our fabrics, our identity—and putting them on a global runway.”

Winners of the competition will be commissioned to design for the Ministry and showcase their work at the high-level diplomatic event.
But beyond that, they’ll gain access to international exposure, career-shaping collaborations, and residencies that could open doors for years to come.

For creatives across the country, from Lagos to Enugu to Kano, this could be a career-defining moment—especially for young designers dreaming of bridging tradition and innovation on a world stage.

Applications are open until April 24th, 2025, and the Ministry is calling on dedicated, collaborative, and portfolio-ready creatives to seize this chance.
