SIOGA Abuja Branch Charts New Course with Election of New Leadership

In a bid to further strengthen its foundation and elevate the Saint Itas Old Girls Association (SIOGA), the Abuja Branch has elected a fresh set of executive members to lead the association for the next two years.
The highly anticipated elections, held in Abuja, have successfully concluded, ushering in a new era of leadership for the branch.

At the opening of the electoral process, outgoing President Mrs. Cecilia Isibor took the opportunity to express her gratitude to members, acknowledging their unwavering dedication to the growth of the association since its inception in 2019.
Her remarks highlighted the remarkable progress made, noting that the election marked a crucial step in ensuring that the branch’s vision continued to thrive.

The election was a momentous occasion for the members, with Mrs. Mercy Otobrise, the Chairman of the Electoral Committee, emphasizing the spirit of teamwork that made the election not only credible but also seamless.
“It is a testament to our unity and collective resolve,” Mrs. Otobrise remarked, while also calling for the new leaders to adopt the association’s core principles—Tolerance, Obedience, and Peace—as guiding values in their tenure.

Mrs. Otobrise also reflected on the hard work of past leadership, acknowledging the significant strides made by those who had led the association in previous years.
She underscored the importance of continuity and collaboration in the journey ahead.

The election results saw the re-election of Mrs. Cecilia Saduwa Isibor as President, a clear sign of the members’ confidence in her leadership. Mrs. Mercy Otobrise was appointed Vice President, while Mrs. Georgina Humphrey will serve as Secretary. Other members filling key positions include Shirley Oghenejobo as Assistant Secretary and Mrs. Nellie Akpovona Leton as Treasurer, alongside others in roles such as Financial Secretary, Social Secretary, and Welfare Officers.

In a significant move for the global reach of the association, Hon. Blessyn Brume Ataguba was nominated by the branch to represent them on the Board of Trustees (BoT) at the international level, further extending the influence of the Abuja Branch within the global SIOGA community.

The newly elected Exco members were formally sworn into office in a ceremony led by Hon. Blessyn Brume Ataguba, marking the beginning of their leadership journey.
With this new leadership, SIOGA Abuja is poised to continue its mission of unity, empowerment, and advocacy for its members, building on the legacy of those who have led before.
