Leke Adeboye dismisses speculation over RCCG succession

Pastor Leke Adeboye, son of the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has dismissed speculation that he is positioning himself to succeed his father as head of the church.
Leke, who spoke during a recent programme, said he had no ambition to become the next General Overseer of the RCCG.
According to him, the position comes with an enormous spiritual responsibility, which he said is more demanding than many people realise.

“I am not aiming to become the General Overseer of RCCG. It’s a lot to carry, especially when you see it from the backend,” he said.
His comments come amid recurring speculation within and outside the church about who could eventually succeed the elder Adeboye, who has led the RCCG for decades.
Leke’s statement, however, puts to rest speculation linking him directly to the leadership position, at least in terms of any ambition he has publicly expressed.
