By Friday Idachaba
Grassroots mobilisers of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Kaduna State have pledged to intensify efforts to build support for the party’s 2027 presidential ticket of Engr. Seyi Makinde and his running mate, Daura, ahead of the January 16 presidential election.
The pledge was made at a mobilisation meeting organised by the Kaduna Grassroots and Mobilisation Drive in Barnawa, Kaduna, on Sunday.

The meeting brought together party stakeholders from polling units, wards and the 23 local government areas of the state to assess their mobilisation efforts and develop strategies to expand the party’s reach.
The initiative was coordinated by Hon. Danladi Boyis Hassan and Hon. Tachio John.
In his welcome address, Hassan said the mobilisation drive was designed to present Nigerians with an alternative in the 2027 elections, urging voters to consider the Makinde/Daura ticket as a possible response to the country’s challenges.
John called on stakeholders to strengthen their grassroots activities, particularly in support of APM National Campaign Council Director-General, Hon. Felix Hassan Hyat, whom he described as central to coordinating the campaign’s engagement with voters.

Representing the women, Mrs Judith Yusuf pledged sustained participation by the women’s wing, assuring the leadership of efforts to mobilise female supporters ahead of the election.
Similarly, the men’s representative, Mr Augustine Kazah, said members had been working to build support for Makinde across the state and expressed confidence in their ability to meet the group’s mobilisation targets.
The youth representative, Mr Nehemiah Tene, also pledged to expand the party’s presence among young people and sustain engagement across communities.
Former Minister of State for Aviation and APM National Campaign Council Director-General, Hyat, who made a brief appearance at the meeting, commended the stakeholders for their commitment.
He promised to convey their resolutions and expressions of support to Makinde.
The conveners and state leaders, including Hassan, John, Dr Sarki Babangida Rijana and Hon. Stephen Hassan Hyat, expressed satisfaction with the turnout of coordinators from across the state.
They also cited reports of growing acceptance of the party’s presidential candidate as encouragement for further grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 poll.
