Yusuf Buhari Joins 2027 Race, Eyes Reps Seat in Katsina
Yusuf Buhari, son of former President Muhammadu Buhari, has formally declared his intention to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The move was disclosed by Bashir Ahmad, who revealed that Yusuf had concluded consultations and notified key political stakeholders of his ambition.
In a letter dated April 3, Yusuf said he would run to represent the Sandamu/Daura/Mai’Adua federal constituency in Katsina State under the platform of the All Progressives Congress.
He described his decision as a step toward contributing to governance and grassroots development, promising to focus on infrastructure and human capital if elected.
According to Ahmad, the declaration followed “wide consultations” with political allies and community leaders, signaling a calculated entry into partisan politics.
Yusuf’s bid marks a significant moment, as it brings another member of the Buhari family into the political arena, setting the tone for what could become a closely watched contest in Katsina State as momentum gradually builds toward 2027.
