Yar’Adua Mourns Late Senator Okey Ezea, Hails Legacy of Service

Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’Adua (Katsina Central) has expressed profound sorrow over the passing of Senator Okey Ezea, describing him as a calm, dedicated statesman whose life was defined by service, philanthropy, and an unwavering commitment to the public good.
In a condolence message on Wednesday, Yar’Adua said Ezea left an “indelible mark” through his humanitarian efforts and legislative contributions, touching countless lives during his tenure in the Senate.
He recalled Ezea’s active role in shaping Nigeria’s Fourth Republic politics, including his pivotal contribution to the formation of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu in 2013 and his candidacy in the 2015 elections. According to Yar’Adua, Ezea’s passion for democratic progress and community development earned him respect both within and beyond the National Assembly.
“His calm disposition, thoughtful approach, and dedication to empowering others garnered admiration from colleagues and constituents alike,” the Katsina senator said.
Yar’Adua prayed for strength for Ezea’s bereaved family and encouraged colleagues and associates to draw inspiration from his life of integrity, compassion, and public service. He concluded by praying for the repose of the late senator’s soul, asking God to grant him eternal rest.
