
St. Augustine Lugbe set to celebrate Cultural Day, fund raising

The Parish Priest, Very Rev’d Fr. James Akpamoo, of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Airport Road, Lugbe, Abuja, is excited to inform the Christian community, especially Catholics, in Abuja that the all is set for the 2025 Cultural Day Celebration and Fund Raising for their Church building project, which is ongoing.
The Cultural Fiesta which would hold with the theme “Our Culture, Our Heritage”, is scheduled for Sunday, 28th September, 2025, at the Church Premises in Lugbe Abuja, commencing with the 9am Mass and Thanksgiving.

According to the Chairman of the Planning Committee, Sir Andrew Yahaya Adejo, KSJI, The Cultural Fiesta is around the corner. It would hold under the distinguished Chairmanship of Brig. Gen. Nwankwo .N.N. Nwanesi, PhD, KSJI, KSS, the Royal Father of the day would be Rt. Hon. Chavelier John Umah (Akiliwo Oda-ojiji) ,and Mother of the day would be Mrs. Olufisayo Darryl-Odiaka.
The event would showcase the colourful traditional attires and dishes of our parishioners from different states, across the country, and it promises to be an exciting and historical event, with the First Parish Priest, Very Revd Fr. Thomas Edogbanya officiating the Mass.
He said the Church building is developing, the small worshipping community are trying their best to sustain the progress and to ultimately build a befitting place of worship for the Lord
He said” We are glad to inform you that the construction of the Church building has advanced to the roofing level.
Consequently, we specially invite all Catholics, Christians and individuals who find pleasure in building for the Lord, because of the inherent divine benefits, to take advantage of this unique opportunity to be part of this investment in the house of the Lord, as we raise funds for the development of His Church.”
