Senator Abdulaziz Yar’Adua Reaffirms Loyalty to APC, Dismisses Defection Speculation
Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’Adua, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Army, has dispelled speculation surrounding his alleged defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing such claims as baseless and misleading.
In a statement he personally signed and made public on Sunday, the senator reaffirmed his total allegiance to the APC, calling on the media to refrain from amplifying rumours without verification.
“I remain a committed member of the All Progressives Congress. My support for the party and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains resolute,” he declared. “It is important to make clear that political affiliation cannot and should not be assumed solely based on a surname.”
Yar’Adua also criticized what he described as “mischievous attempts” by certain media outlets to create confusion, stressing that he continues to align with the goals of the Tinubu-led administration and the leadership of the 10th National Assembly.
Highlighting key reforms of the federal government, he noted progress in infrastructure investment, agriculture, enhanced funding to subnational governments, and improved security through mass recruitment into security agencies.
“As political leaders, our duty is to collaborate and ensure that the benefits of governance reach the grassroots. I am proud to be part of that effort under the APC,” Yar’Adua added.
He concluded with a call for unity and focus, pledging to work with fellow leaders to uphold the values of progress and inclusion for all Nigerians.
