Sawaba is an FM Radio station situated in Hadejia town, Hadejia Local government area of Jigawa state. The station was founded by the former minister of foreign affairs and supervisory Ministry of Information, former Jigawa state deputy gobernatorial candidate under the platform of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in 2015, former northeast senatorial candidate in 2023 under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and a Medical professional, Dr. Nuruddeen Muhammad
Sawaba FM (104.9) is a full-service radio station and the first indigenous private radio station in Hadeja, and second in Jigawa State. The station is equipped with modern and recent broadcasting facilities and staffed by matured, morally sound, educated and talented skillful, passionate, devoted young professionals, committed to delivering fair, balanced, quality and impactful programmes.
The Sawaba broadcast signal covers the entire Hadejia emirate which comprises of eight (8) local government areas as well as most parts of Gumel, Ringim, Kazaure and Duste emirates.
In addition, Sawaba reach extends to parts of Kano, Yobe and Bauchi states respectively and even beyond Nigeria to Damagaran and Marad’i in the Niger republic.
I t has s an estimated audience of nearly six (6) million listeners, with over three hundred (300,000) social media (new media) followers. Sawaba is a now proudly among the top ten radio stations with the highest followers in northern Nigeria.
As an employer of labor and a training ground, Sawaba FM radio station has a total staff capacity of about with with more than 40 students on SIWES from various institutions of learning accross the state.
The professionalism of this staff received through over fourty radio programs has received accolades and recognition leading to international partnerships with Radio France International (RFI), Voice of America (VOA), and BBC Media Action among others, bringing Jigawa, its people, voices, and culture into the international media ecosystem
Sawaba FM Hadejia has become a blessing to many people because it educates, enlightens, liberates, entertains, motivates, promotes and lots more to the general public.
As we celebrate Sawaba @7, we must however celebrate and eulogise the founder, Dr. Nura for his foresight, patriotic gesture, and giant stride of putting a very nice and vibrant media house in place that brought about:
