Saudi ‘Sleeping Prince’ Al Waleed Dies After 19 Years in Coma
Prince Al Waleed bin Khaled bin Talal, a member of the Saudi royal family popularly known as the “Sleeping Prince,” has died after spending 19 years in a coma.
The prince slipped into an unresponsive state in 2005 following a tragic car accident and remained in a coma ever since. Despite being confined to a hospital bed for nearly two decades, his story became a powerful symbol of faith, endurance, and hope throughout the Arab world.
He was the nephew of billionaire investor Prince Alwaleed bin Talal and a beloved figure within the House of Saud.
The royal family confirmed his passing on Saturday. Funeral rites are scheduled to take place in Riyadh on Sunday.
