Sallah: Kogi Assembly Speaker tasks Muslim Ummah on Sacrifice, obedience

Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf has enjoined Muslims in the state and across the country to imbibe the virtues of sacrifice for the good of the nation as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (AS).
The Speaker made the call in his Sallah message to the people of the and Nigerians in general on the occasion of the 2025 Eid-el-Kabir, signed and made available to newsmen by the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Yabagi Mohammed on Friday in Lokoja.
According to the statement, the Speaker called on Muslims to continue to imbibe the virtues of sacrifice, obedience and strive to follow the footprints of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) whose singular act of obedience has continued to benefit mankind.
He said that Prophet Ibrahim demonstrated utmost loyalty, faith, and total obedience to Allah, not willing to hold anything back from Him, as he willingly surrendered his beloved son to the will of Almighty Allah.
Speaker Yusuf stressed that the celebration was a solemn one, requiring dedication to prayers and responsible social interactions.
He therefore called on the Muslim Ummah to use the occasion of the Eid Adha to make supplications to Allah for the success of the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.
The Speaker also urged prayers for other government functionaries as he noted that they have demonstrated their interest and commitment to the development and advancement of Kogi state.
Speaker Yusuf also used the occasion to express his appreciation to members of the 8th Assembly for their unalloyed support for the leadership.
He particularly thanked them for being the backbone and force behind the progress made so far in the Assembly. (Ends)
