President Tinubu Promises to Confront Nigeria’s Security Threats
President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to tackling the root causes of insecurity and promoting social cohesion across Nigeria.
Speaking at the Passing-Out-Parade of 1,187 newly commissioned Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASP) at the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano, Tinubu, represented by SGF Sen. George Akume, reminded officers of their duty to uphold law and order, protect human rights, and be prepared to make the ultimate sacrifice for the nation.
The President pledged continued support for the Police Academy and other security agencies, emphasizing the provision of resources, training, and equipment necessary to build a professional and educated police force. He stressed that the Academy plays a crucial role in shaping officers who serve with integrity, courage, and respect for citizens.
“The Nigeria Police Academy has risen to the challenge of producing officers capable of serving with integrity, courage, and compassion. Your role is pivotal in maintaining peace, stability, and trust in our communities,” Tinubu said.
The Academy, established in 1998, now offers degree and postgraduate programs. Its commandant, AIG Patrick Adedeji Atayero, announced that the new officers have been awarded Bachelor’s degrees in various disciplines after meeting the Academy’s rigorous standards.
The parade drew top government officials, including IGP Kayode Egbetokun, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, military leaders, and members of the National Assembly.
