Police Intercept Vehicle, Recover Firearm in Ikot Ekpene Stop-and-Search

Operatives of the Akwa Ibom State Police Command have intercepted a Mercedes Benz C300 with a customized plate number FORBES JR, recovering a locally fabricated firearm and two live cartridges during a routine stop-and-search operation at the Control Post in Ikot Ekpene.

The intercepted vehicle had three male occupants, identified as, Nsisong Paul Okon, 27, native of Itak Village, Ikono LGA, Francis Forbes, 62, of Ikot Akpa Edok Ndiya Village, Ikono LGA and Prince Forbes, 27, of Ikot Akpa Edok Ndiya Village, Ikono LGA

The Commissioner of Police, CP Baba M. Azare, to have directed a full-scale investigation into the matter.

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command reaffirmed its zero tolerance for illegal firearms and its commitment to ensuring public safety and crime prevention across the state.
