The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State has reaffirmed its position as a solution to Nigeria’s socio-political and economic challenges, emphasizing a people-centric approach rooted in justice, fairness, and inclusivity.
Speaking at a weekend meeting organized by Natasha Avabe Group in Zango Citi, Adavi LGA, PDP State Chairman Hon. Muhammed Sanni Gambo highlighted the party’s commitment to producing senators for all three senatorial districts and full representation in the House of Representatives at the next general election.
Gambo praised Senator Natasha Akpoti Udaughan as a “performing legislator” and a worthy representative of Kogi Central, underscoring the party’s focus on unity and progress.
At a State-level Consultative Forum on women and political parties, organized by Challenged Parenthood Initiative (CPI) with support from the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), Gambo detailed PDP’s plans to boost women’s participation in politics.
He announced a quota system to reserve political seats for women, mentorship programs pairing newcomers with experienced female politicians, and training workshops to equip women with the skills and confidence to succeed.
Gambo also urged society to address cultural barriers that hinder women in politics and advised female politicians to adopt flexible schedules to balance family and public responsibilities.
“The PDP is committed to inclusivity, empowering youth and women, and doing things differently to truly serve the people,” he said.
