They were received during the official flagoff of Hon. Abdulkabir Okaka Ohiani Itopa’s aspiration to contest for the Adavi/Okehi Federal Constituency seat in 2027.

Speaking during the ceremony, the state PDP Chairman, Hon. Gambo flanked by other prominent PDP members, reiterated the party’s dominance in the Central district since 1999.

He expressed confidence in the PDP’s chances of winning more seats in 2027 as he urged all members to continue to rally support for Hon. Abdulkabir Okaka Ohiani Itopa to clinch the seat.

The Chairman extolled Senator Natasha Akpoti Udaughan’s efforts and urged the people to support the PDP, emphasizing that it is the only party owned by the people.

The defectors, led by Usman Ahmed, cited the PDP as the only party capable of salvaging Kogi people from the myriad challenges currently confronting the state.

PDP officials urged the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to start preparing its handing over notes as they assured a clean sweep by the PDP in 2027.

In a related development, the PDP Chairman, Hon. Gambo has expressed confidence that the party would make a strong comeback in the 2027 general election, defeating the ruling party in the governorship election and shock its critics.

Gambo made this statement in Lokoja after meeting with party members, citing widespread disenchantment with the current administration and nostalgia among the people for the PDP’s past governance.

“We are confident that come 2027, it will be a total sweep,” he said, attributing existing infrastructure to PDP’s previous rule.

He urged Kogi people to remain united and calm, assuring them that the PDP’s return to power would bring an end to their suffering and bring development. (Ends)
