PASAN hails Kogi Speaker for boosting staff welfare initiatives

The Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN), Kogi State Chapter, has unanimously passed a Vote of Confidence in the Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aliu Umar Yusuf, citing his human-centered approach and commitment to staff welfare.
In a statement signed by Comrade Omotala Emmanuel Ayodele, PASAN Chairman, made available to journalists on Tuesday, the association praised the Speaker for strengthening staff morale and fostering an inclusive work environment.
“While previous Speakers may have engaged staff to some degree, none has demonstrated the open-door leadership and inclusivity shown by Rt. Hon. Yusuf,” Omotala said.
The union highlighted the Speaker’s initiative of distributing palliatives, such as rice and vegetable oil, to both Christian and Muslim staff during major religious festivals, noting that these gestures have alleviated financial pressures during festive periods.
PASAN further commended the Speaker for actively supporting staff members in need, providing both economic and financial assistance whenever required.
A key milestone recognized in the statement was the recent implementation of staff promotions by the 8th Assembly under Governor Usman Ododo, ending a seven-year delay that had previously dampened morale. The union said the move has reignited enthusiasm and renewed commitment among staff members.
In closing, PASAN pledged unwavering loyalty to the Speaker’s leadership and affirmed its readiness to support the Assembly in achieving legislative excellence and improving staff welfare across Kogi State.
