Names ICT Expert Technical Assistant

The Vice-Chancellor of Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), Salisu Ogbo Usman, has approved the appointment of Uredo Omale as the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the institution.
The appointment takes immediate effect, according to a statement issued by the university and signed by Abdulkadir Bin Abdulmalik following an official letter from the Office of the Registrar, Yahaya Segun Alilu.
Until her new appointment, Omale served as Director of Public Relations and Protocol at Kogi State Polytechnic, a position she held for six years between 2020 and 2026.
A seasoned communications professional, Omale is widely recognised for her expertise in institutional public relations and strategic communication.
During her tenure at Kogi State Polytechnic, she played a key role in strengthening the institution’s public image through coordinated media engagement and effective stakeholder relations.
Her professionalism and leadership in managing institutional communications earned her a Distinguished Service Award in recognition of her contributions before transferring her services to Prince Abubakar Audu University.
In her new role as Public Relations Officer, Omale is expected to drive strategic media engagement and strengthen the university’s public image through effective communication and stakeholder relations.
She will also oversee internal and external communications, coordinate media relations and manage protocol services within the Office of the Vice-Chancellor.
In a related development, the Vice-Chancellor also approved the appointment of Babaniyi Power Ayo-Olowasimi as Technical Assistant to the Vice-Chancellor.
Before his appointment, Babaniyi, a technology innovator and digital systems specialist, served the university in several strategic capacities.
His previous roles include Head of the Management Information System (MIS) Unit, Administrative and Training Officer, and Technical Secretary of the university’s Strategic Planning Committee.
He was also a member of the Blackboard Integration Team and most recently served as Head of the Data Management Unit.
With his new role as Technical Assistant, Babaniyi is expected to support the Vice-Chancellor in advancing the university’s strategic ICT initiatives.
He will also play a key role in strengthening the institution’s digital infrastructure and promoting innovative, technology-driven solutions aimed at enhancing administrative efficiency and academic excellence at the university.
