Okigwe Catholic Bishop Consoles Sr. Mary Eudes Over Father’s Passing
***Hails Late Nkwoh’s Life of Faith
The Catholic Bishop of Okigwe Diocese, Most Rev. Solomon A. Amatu, has extended heartfelt condolences to Sr. Mary Eudes Nkwoh of St. Mary’s Parish, Amuzi Obowo, following the death of her father, Mr. Lawrence Nkwoh, describing him as a man who lived a life of deep faith, peace, and service to God.
In a condolence letter personally addressed to the nun, Bishop Amatu said the late Nkwoh, fondly known as Bro. Law, was widely respected for his integrity, compassion, and unwavering commitment to Christian values. He noted that the deceased’s dedication to God and service to the Church touched many lives within and beyond his community.
The bishop highlighted Bro. Law’s leadership role as the former head of the Maranatha Prayer Group of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal of Nigeria, stating that his zeal and steadfast faith inspired countless believers.
“From his early years, he was known for his love of peace, unity, and deep reverence for God,” Bishop Amatu wrote. “His devotion was evident not only in his daily Christian witness but also in the many contributions he made to the growth of the Body of Christ.”
Quoting from 2 Timothy 4:7–8—“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith”—the bishop said the late Nkwoh exemplified a life of spiritual endurance and left behind a legacy that would continue to inspire those who knew him.
He prayed for God’s comfort upon the bereaved family and for the peaceful repose of the deceased.
“May the Lord of all consolation comfort you and your family, and may the gentle soul of Bro. Law Nkwoh rest in perfect peace,” the bishop added.
Mr. Lawrence Nkwoh is remembered as a devout Catholic and committed family man whose faith-driven life continues to leave a mark on his community.
