Ododo urges unity, sacrifice, patience, compassion, fervent prayers for peace at Ramadan

GOVERNOR Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi has called on the Muslim ummah to advance the cause of unity, sacrifice, patience and compassion for the less privileged as they commence the spiritual obligation of the 2025 Ramadan fast.

Ododo made the call on Saturday in Lokoja, in his Ramadan message to the people of State especially, the Muslim Ummah, as they embark on the one-month spiritual exercise.

Ododo described Holy Ramadan as a “sacred time” for reflection on Allah’s goodness, opportunity for deeper devotion, and practice of self-discipline.

He said, “Ramadan is a sacred time of reflection, devotion, and self-discipline. It reminds us of patience, sacrifice, and generosity – values that strengthen faith and encourage compassion for those in need.”

He urged the people of Kogi to love one another, embrace peace, and promote mutual respect to foster the state’s development, regardless of religious differences.

Governor Ododo encouraged residents to use Ramadan as an opportunity for bonding to strengthen unity and work together for the state’s continued progress.

He added: “During this Holy Month, I encourage all residents of Kogi, regardless of faith, to embrace the spirit of love, peace, and mutual respect that Ramadan represents.

“Let us use this opportunity to strengthen our bonds as a people and work together for the continued progress and unity of our dear state.”

Ododo also called on residents to show compassion to the less privileged, uphold justice, and foster harmony within their communities urging that the period be dedicated to fervent prayers for peace, security, and development in Kogi State and Nigeria. (Ends)
