Ododo renews appointment Of Prof. Ogbo Usman as Kogi Poly Rector

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State has renewed the appointment of Prof. Salisu Ogbo Usman for second term as Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja.
A Statement signed by Uredo Omale, Director, Public Relations and Protocol of the Polytechnic on Monday in Lokoja said the re-appointment was in recognition of Prof. Ogbo’s superlative performance as Rector of the institution over the last four years.
Prof. Salisu Ogbo Usman, according to the statement, thanked Governor Ododo for acknowledging his modest contributions to the growth of the institution.
He also appreciated the immediate past Governor, His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, for bringing him on board as Acting Rector after which the appointment was confirmed in 2021.
The Rector thanked the Governing Council, Academic Board, Management, staff and students of the institution for their invaluable support which made possible, the overall transformation of Polytechnic this far.
Prof. Ogbo Usman promised not to relent in his determination to advance the cause of the Polytechnic as he vowed to put in much more efforts in his second term to strengthen the positive visibility of the institution.
It is on record that since his coming on board as Rector of the Polytechnic, Prof. Salisu Ogbo Usman has radically transformed the institution through massive infrastructure improvement and security of lives and properties.
“His first four years in office witnessed full accreditation of programmes stagnated for years and initiated administrative reforms, ensured restoration of discipline and general quality assurance amongst others”, it said.
The statement further expressed the wish of the Directorate of Public Relations and Protocol for a more successful second term for the Rector.
It would be recalled that Prof. Salisu Ogbo Usman was appointed Rector of the institution in acting capacity in April, 2020 and was confirmed substantive Rector in February, 2021.
The current tenure is expected to end February, 2025 when the renewed tenure would commence. (Ends)
