Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has been honored with the Governor of the Year (Agriculture) Award 2024 by Independent Newspapers Limited, recognizing his administration’s transformative impact on food security and agricultural development.
The award, presented in Abuja, was received on his behalf by Honourable Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo.
His commitment to agriculture has boosted food production, positioning Kogi as a major contributor to Nigeria’s agricultural revolution under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
Special Adviser on Media to the Governor, Ismaila Isah in a Statement indicated that the develoment marked Governor Ododo’s third major award from media organizations this year, underscoring his dedication to food security, sustainable agriculture, and youth and women’s empowerment in Kogi State.
The recognition highlights Governor Ododo’s policies aimed at Empowering farmers through mechanized agriculture, encouraging youth and women’s participation in farming and enhancing the agricultural value chain in the state.
His efforts have boosted food production and positioned Kogi State as a key player in Nigeria’s agricultural revolution under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
It will be recalled that Governor Ododo had previously received, Political Personality of the Year Award (The Sun Newspaper) and Governor of the Year & Youth-Friendly Governor Award (Daily Asset Newspaper & NAKOSS).
Governor Ododo’s initiatives align with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, reinforcing Kogi’s role in national food security and inclusive development.
