Northern Senators Forum Celebrates Chief Audu Ogbeh’s Legacy, Mourns a Statesman

The Northern Senators Forum (NSF) has honoured the late Chief Audu Ogbeh, former Minister of Communications and Agriculture, as a patriotic statesman whose decades of service strengthened Nigeria’s unity and advanced its development.
In a statement signed by its chairman, Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’adua, the Forum reflected on Ogbeh’s rise from the Benue State House of Assembly to the national stage, where he held strategic positions and pursued reforms with uncommon dedication.
“Chief Audu Ogbeh, who passed away at 78, lived a purposeful and impactful life,” Yar’adua said. “He was a forthright Nigerian who placed the nation’s interest above all else, serving selflessly with a clear vision to reform and better our country.”
The Forum highlighted his achievements as Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development under President Muhammadu Buhari, including the Agricultural Inputs Mechanisation and Management Services (AIMMS) programme, which boosted transparency and curbed fraud in the sector.
Describing him as “a leader whose vision reached into the fields and homes of Nigerian farmers,” Yar’adua urged present-day leaders to emulate his patriotism, commitment to unity, and tireless service to national progress.
The Senators prayed for the peaceful repose of his soul and for God’s comfort upon his family, the people of Benue State, and all Nigerians mourning the loss of a true servant-leader.
