NIS DG Shaibu Attributes Appointment to Divine Favour
Comrade Philip Shaibu, Director General of the National Institute for Sports and former Deputy Governor of Edo State, has described his recent appointment as an act of divine favour.
Speaking at a thanksgiving service held on Sunday at Saint Paul Catholic Church, Airport Road, Benin City, Shaibu expressed deep gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the opportunity to lead the institute.
The service was graced by top dignitaries, including Edo State Deputy Governor Rt Hon Dennis Idahosa, former Chief of Staff Hon Taiwo Akerele, Hon Donald Okogbe, and HRH Oba F. A. Igbafe, the Olokpe of Okpe-Oloma.
Shaibu pledged to reform and reposition the National Institute for Sports in line with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda, assuring that he would justify the trust reposed in him.
Deputy Governor Idahosa congratulated Shaibu, affirming confidence in his capacity to deliver. Shaibu promised to work closely with Idahosa in representing and promoting Edo State’s interests nationally.
A reception held at his residence on Adeyan Avenue brought together friends and supporters in celebration of the milestone.
