Nigeria, Brazil Sign Defence Agreement to Deepen Strategic Cooperation

Nigeria and Brazil have signed a landmark Defence Agreement as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral ties and enhance strategic cooperation across multiple sectors.

The agreement was signed on behalf of Nigeria by the Honourable Minister of Defence, H.E. Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, CON, mni, and Brazil’s Vice President, Geraldo Alckmin, during the second session of the Nigeria–Brazil Strategic Dialogue Mechanism (SDM) held Tuesday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The three-day engagement aims to expand opportunities in defence, agriculture, trade, industry, science and technology, renewable energy, and cultural exchange.

The Nigeria–Brazil SDM reflects President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to deepening global partnerships that drive national development and economic transformation.
