Kano NGO Supports Over 1,000 Orphans with Ramadan Relief Packages
In the spirit of Ramadan, the Kano Network for Orphans and Human Development* has extended a helping hand to over 1,000 orphans and vulnerable individuals in Kano State by distributing essential food items, including rice, macaroni, and spaghetti. The initiative aims to ease the burden of vulnerable families during the holy month and ensure that orphans do not go hungry.
Speaking at the distribution event, Comrade Adam Umar, Chairman of the Association, emphasized the organization’s long-standing commitment to orphan welfare. He highlighted its key initiatives, such as Qur’anic memorization programs for orphans, Vocational training in carpentry, welding, and other trades, Empowerment programs to help orphans achieve self-reliance
He also extended gratitude to key donors, including Alhaji Abubakar Nuhu, Umza Rice, and Northern Nigerian Flour Mills, whose generosity made the initiative possible.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Grassroots Mobilization, Hon. Ismail Ahmed Gurjiya, praised the NGO’s efforts, describing them as a crucial step in improving the lives of orphans. He reaffirmed Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s commitment to policies that support orphans and the underprivileged.
Hon. Gurjiya further encouraged wealthy individuals and organizations to step forward and contribute to similar initiatives, especially during Ramadan, a time of compassion, giving, and community support.
Other notable figures at the event included, Village Head of Sharada, Alhaji Iliyasu Muazu Sharada, Sardaunan Matasan Sharada, Hon. Barau Muazu and Philanthropist, Alhaji Abubakar Nuhu
Expressing their gratitude on behalf of the beneficiaries, Humaira Musa and Zainab Yahya acknowledged the impact of the support, stating that it would bring relief to many struggling families.
This initiative highlights the power of community-driven efforts in ensuring that *Ramadan* remains a time of joy, even for the most vulnerable members of society.
