Justice Meets Security: Kogi Chief Judge Applauds Police Command’s Professionalism, Ethical Conduct
By Friday Idachaba, Lokoja
It was a moment of mutual respect and institutional camaraderie as the Chief Judge of Kogi State, Hon. Justice Josiah Majebi, paid a courtesy visit to the State Commissioner of Police, CP Miller Dantawaye, at the Police Command Headquarters in Lokoja.
During the visit, Justice Majebi showered praises on the Kogi State Police Command for what he described as an impressive display of professionalism, ethical responsibility, and unwavering respect for the rule of law.
“Our Judiciary has felt the positive impact of the Police under your leadership,” the Chief Judge said, addressing CP Dantawaye directly. “Your officers, particularly those attached to the courts, have conducted themselves with dignity, discipline, and deep respect for due process. It speaks volumes about the quality of leadership at the top.”
The purpose of the visit, Justice Majebi explained, was to strengthen the critical relationship between the Judiciary and the Police as part of ongoing efforts to improve criminal justice delivery across the state.
In a warm and appreciative tone, CP Dantawaye welcomed the Chief Judge, calling him “a father indeed” and expressing gratitude for the recognition and support.
“This visit means a lot to us,” the CP said. “It reassures us that the Judiciary sees the Police as true partners in the quest for justice and security. That synergy is what keeps the system working.”
He acknowledged the longstanding collaboration between the Police and the Judiciary in Kogi State, noting that both institutions play complementary roles in the pursuit of peace, order, and justice.
“Without a strong relationship with the Judiciary, our ability to effectively manage crime and uphold the law would be severely limited,” Dantawaye noted. “We are committed to sustaining this partnership for the good of our people.”
Justice Majebi also took time to applaud the Police Command’s management team, commending them for backing the Commissioner’s vision and upholding professionalism across board. He said their collective effort was not going unnoticed and was making a tangible difference in the lives of citizens.
The exchange between the Chief Judge and the CP was more than ceremonial — it reflected a shared understanding that law and order are best upheld when the judiciary and the police work hand in hand, guided by justice, discipline, and service to the people.
As both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to institutional cooperation, the message was clear: in Kogi State, justice and security are not just aspirations—they are joint responsibilities, built on respect, trust, and professional excellence.
