The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has praised Governor Malam Umar Namadi for setting up a strong team for the 2026 Hajj exercise and appointing the Emir of Dutse, His Royal Highness Alhaji Mohammed Hameem Nuhu Sunusi, as Amirul Hajj.
In a statement released in Dutse and signed by the Board’s Public Relations Officer, Alhaji Habibu Yusuf Babura, the Board described the appointments as timely and well considered.
The statement said the Board, led by its Director-General, Alhaji Ahmad Umar Labbo, has pledged full cooperation with the newly appointed Amirul Hajj to ensure a smooth, well-organised, and successful pilgrimage.
Babura quoted Labbo as describing the choice of the Emir of Dutse as “most appropriate,” pointing to his strong religious background, moral standing, and track record of leadership in Jigawa State.
“The Amirul Hajj brings the required religious insight and leadership experience needed to effectively guide pilgrims. The Board is ready to work closely with him and draw from his wealth of experience,” the statement noted.
Labbo also congratulated the Amirul Hajj on the appointment and assured that staff of the Board are prepared to work diligently with him to deliver a hitch-free 2026 Hajj exercise.
The Board further commended Governor Namadi for what it described as a thoughtful decision that underscores his administration’s commitment to strengthening religious institutions and improving Hajj administration across the state.
