The Jigawa State Open Government Partnership (OGP) has unveiled its Strategic Action Plan III (SAP III), aimed at boosting transparency, accountability, climate resilience, and service delivery across key sectors in the state.
Developed collaboratively with the Jigawa State Government and the UKaid-funded Partnership for Agile Governance and Climate Engagement (PACE), the plan identifies five thematic areas: Fiscal Transparency and Accountability, Anti-Corruption, Access to Justice, Climate Action, and Service Delivery.
Speaking to National Update, OGP Co-Chair (Non-State Actors) Comrade Isah Mustapha said SAP III seeks to strengthen citizen engagement in budgeting and procurement, integrate climate resilience and renewable energy adoption into state planning, and enhance institutional capacity for efficient service delivery across sectors like health, education, agriculture, livestock, water, and transportation.
On Anti-Corruption, the plan focuses on reinforcing transparency and integrity in Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), while Access to Justice aims to improve prosecution of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) cases and civil justice efficiency. The Service Delivery component promotes inclusivity and accountability in economic empowerment and social protection programmes.
Comrade Mustapha expressed optimism that SAP III’s implementation will advance good governance and sustainable development, commending the state government and PACE for their continued support.
