Jigawa Journalist Honoured with Traditional Title in Birnin Kudu

A seasoned journalist and respected media professional, Alhaji Ibrahim Isyaku, has been honoured with the prestigious traditional title of Sarkin Dawakin Birnin Kudu in Jigawa State.
The turbaning ceremony, which took place in Birnin Kudu, followed his appointment by the District Head of Birnin Kudu, Alhaji Usaini Hassan Jibrin, and the subsequent approval of the Emir of Dutse, His Highness Alhaji Hamim Nuhu Sunusi.
Held in grand style, the colourful event featured traditional music, cultural dances, majestic horse processions, and drew dignitaries and well-wishers from across Jigawa and beyond.
Speaking at the event, the District Head said Isyaku was chosen based on merit. He described the honouree as a man of integrity, known for his professionalism, dedication to community service, and commitment to addressing public concerns through responsible journalism.
“With the approval of His Highness, the Emir of Dutse, I appointed Ibrahim Isyaku as Sarkin Dawakin Birnin Kudu. I charge him to uphold the traditions and values of the Dutse Emirate in his service,” the District Head declared.
He further expressed hope that the new titleholder would use his experience and moral upbringing to promote the ideals of the palace, strengthen cultural heritage, and contribute positively to Jigawa State and humanity at large.
In his acceptance remarks, Alhaji Ibrahim Isyaku expressed profound gratitude to the District Head and the Emirate Council for the honour bestowed upon him. He pledged to live up to the expectations of the title and continue serving his community with loyalty and diligence.
Isyaku also extended appreciation to the Chairman of Birnin Kudu Local Government and all those who supported him on his journey.
