Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun has urged officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force to uphold professionalism, integrity, and service in discharging their duties.

Represented by Kogi State Commissioner of Police, CP Miller Dantawaye, the IGP gave the charge during the commissioning of the new Imane Divisional Police Headquarters in Olamaboro LGA of Kogi State on Tuesday.

He tasked the officers to be fair, diligent, and compassionate, emphasizing that policing is about service and protection, not just law enforcement.

“You must adopt a strong maintenance culture for this facility. We will conduct routine checks,” he warned.

Describing the new station as a symbol of hope, he said it was equipped with modern facilities and a dedicated team to address contemporary security challenges—with community support being key.

Dr. Ibrahim Alih, facilitator of the project, said the new station marks a commitment to improved security, faster response, and stronger police-community relations.
