Group Hails Gov. Mbah for Repositioning Enugu as Regional Hub
The Enugu Global Network (EGN), a socio-political association of professionals at home and in the Diaspora, has lauded Governor Peter Ndubisi Mbah for restoring Enugu State’s pride as the South-East’s centre of tourism, commerce, and hospitality.
In a statement signed by its President, Prof. Oguejiofor Ujam, and Secretary, Hon. Malachy Okey Onyechi, the group said Governor Mbah’s reforms within 26 months have repositioned Enugu as a destination for international business and tourism.
According to EGN, the hosting of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Annual General Meeting in Enugu is a testament to the state’s renewed status as the socio-economic hub of the region. “We have seen a man in a hurry to redefine governance and rekindle the former glory of Enugu State. By adopting Tomorrow is Here as his mantra, the governor has restored hope and confidence,” the group said.

EGN praised the administration’s achievements across critical sectors, including the provision of potable water, reforms in education with emphasis on science, technology, and sustainability, as well as the Smart Schools initiative. It also cited improvements in healthcare delivery, skill acquisition, veterinary medicine, and modern laboratory facilities as proof of Mbah’s holistic approach to governance.
Highlighting his Tomorrow is Here agenda, the group described the governor’s vision of a $40 billion economy as both realistic and achievable, pointing to recent high-profile national and international conferences hosted in the state as evidence of growing investor confidence.
On tourism and infrastructure, EGN noted that the International Conference Centre, the remodeled Presidential Hotel, Enugu Air, and new CNG-powered buses have not only enhanced the city’s profile but also boosted revenue generation and the ease of doing business.
“We commend Governor Mbah for these strings of successes and urge him to sustain the tempo as he enters the second half of his first tenure,” the group declared, applauding the automated land registry and e-tax payment model as critical enablers of growth.
