“It is with deep sorrow and a profound sense of loss that I receive the sad news of the passing of His Excellency, Muhammadu Buhari, elder statesman and former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” the governor said.

He extolled Buhari’s virtues, saying the late leader lived a life marked by discipline, patriotism, and selfless service, which endeared him to millions both at home and abroad.

“President Buhari was more than a leader. He was a symbol of integrity. Throughout his life, he stood tall as a beacon of patriotism and courage, serving Nigeria with unshakeable dedication,” Governor Sule said.

The governor noted that Buhari’s bond with Nasarawa State was particularly special.

“He was not only a friend to our people but a father figure to many of us. His humility and leadership guided multiple generations of Nigerians, including myself,” he added.

While mourning his passing, Governor Sule urged Nigerians to reflect on the values Buhari stood for and uphold his legacy of truth, sacrifice, and devotion to nation-building.

“We in Nasarawa cherish that he lived with purpose, honour, and conviction. Nigeria has lost a statesman, but his legacy will endure.”

He prayed that Almighty Allah forgive the former President’s shortcomings, reward his good deeds, and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus.

“May Allah comfort and strengthen his beloved family, associates, and indeed the entire nation in this moment of grief. May Baba Buhari find eternal rest in paradise. Ameen.”
