In a bold step toward rural transformation and economic integration, Nasarawa State Governor, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, on Friday flagged off the construction of the 24.5km Wamba-Waiye-Dengi-Alizaga Road in Wamba Local Government Area.
The project, valued at ₦9.06 billion, is being executed by Centerfield Engineering Limited under the supervision of the Nasarawa State Bureau for Rural Development.
Speaking during the flag-off ceremony, Governor Sule described the road as a “critical economic corridor” that will open up rural communities, enhance trade and agriculture, and ease the movement of people and goods across the region.
“This project, when completed, will connect communities, boost agriculture, stimulate commerce, and improve mobility,” he said.
The governor urged the contractor to maintain strict adherence to quality specifications and safety standards throughout the construction period. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to infrastructure-driven development as a pathway to inclusive growth and poverty reduction.
Governor Sule emphasized that the Wamba-Waiye-Dengi-Alizaga road is part of a broader rural development agenda aimed at linking hard-to-reach communities with proven socio-economic potential to major towns and markets.
“It is our desire to build a prosperous, secure, and well-connected Nasarawa State,” he declared.
Local leaders and residents at the event commended the governor’s initiative, expressing hope that the project would accelerate development and attract further investment to the area.
