Governor Okpebholo Shares story Behind His Election Victory
The Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, shared insights into his victory in the September 21 governorship election, attributing his success to divine intervention, prayer, and the support of the people of Edo State.

According to the statement, Akpebholo who spoke at a Thanksgiving Service held on Wednesday night at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, emphasized the power of faith, urging Nigerians to place their trust in God through life’s challenges.
During his speech, he shared an unusual incident that occurred the morning after the election. Returning to his room, he found a dead bat on his bed, which he saw as a symbol of divine protection. “I want to thank God,” he stated. “In this last election, while I was praising God, others were working against me from television and social media. But I took the battle to God, and He delivered me.”
Governor Okpebholo expressed his gratitude for the support of clergy and all who stood by him. He advised, “Trust in God alone because He will see you through.”
The Governor also clarified that he avoided seeking help from native doctors, prophets, or spiritual practitioners throughout his campaign.
The Thanksgiving event was attended by political leaders, musicians, and prominent clergy members, underscoring the communal support and unity in celebrating the Governor’s victory.
