Gov Okpebholo Renames Seven Edo Ministries to Reflect Global Standards
In a bid to align with international best practices, Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved the renaming of seven ministries in the state.
The announcement, made on Tuesday through a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, highlighted the governor’s commitment to improving governance and operational clarity in the ministries.
The Ministry of Roads and Bridges is now Ministry of Works, Ministry of Local Government, Community and Chieftaincy Affairs is now Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs and the ministry of Communication and Orientation is renamed Ministry of Information and Communications.
Other ministries affected are the
Ministry of Mining and Energy which is now Ministry of Mining,
Ministry of Water Resources now Ministry of Water Resources and Energy, Ministry of Social Development and Gender Issues now Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development and the
Ministry of Digital Economy, Science and Technology renamed Ministry of Science and Technology.
The SSG assured residents of Edo State that these changes are part of the governor’s broader vision to enhance efficiency and transparency in governance.
“Please, be rest assured that His Excellency, Mr. Governor, is committed to delivering on his mandate to the good people of Edo State,” Ikhilor concluded.
This restructuring underscores the administration’s dedication to creating a modernized and effective governance framework.
