By Ben Ogbemudia, Abuja

Former Minority Whip of the House of Representatives and All Progressives Congress (APC) Candidate for Edo South Senatorial in 2015, Dr. Samson Osagie has described the return of Hon Charles Idahosa to the APC as a major boost for the party in Uhunmwode Local Government area, Edo South Senatorial District and the State in general.

Dr. Osagie, likened politics to a game where there are no permanent enemies, and no permanent friends, only permanent interests, this he said underscores the fluidity of political relations across all democracies.

In his message to welcome back Hon. Charles Idahosa to APC in Abuja, Dr. Samson Osagie, a lawyer said, “It is in the light of this axiomatic truth that I celebrate the return of one of the greatest political icons of our state, leader, elder fearless and a courageous political personage, former Chairman Uhunmwode Local Government Council, former Commissioner For Information, Former Director of the Nigerian Television Authority, Former Member Board of Directors Nigeria Railway Corporation and Former Political Adviser to Governor Adams Oshiomhole.

“Needless to emphasize the fact that he was until recently a Member of the Board of Trustees of the People Democratic Party- Hon. Charles Ekhorutomwen Idahosa, a Justice of the Peace and a National Honours holder of the Officer of the Federal Republic (OFR) to the APC in Edo State.

“As one who has had the unique privilege of representing Uhunmwode Local Government Area in the Edo State House of Assembly between 1999 and 2007 and subsequently the Orhionmwon/Uhunmwode Federal Constituency from 2007 to 2015, I cannot but place on record that Hon Charles Idahosa was among our foremost leaders who gave quality leadership to our people along side with our own Late Dr Samuel Ogbemudia, Pa Dickson Imasogie, Senator Roland Owie among others.

According to him, “We can only hope that the bug that drove the wedge between and amongst political families/allies prior to 2016 will not have the slightest opportunity to re enact their ignoble mission again.

“For us in Uhunmwode Local Government area we will again regain our lost glory in the comity of local government as our own Leader has arrived.

On the whole, “I welcome Hon. Charles Idahosa to his party and together we shall reenact our winning streak prior to 2016.”
