COFAAA congratulates Randy Abbey on appointment as CEO of Ghana Cocoa Board

The Cocoa Farmers Alliance Association of Africa (COFAAA) has sent a warm message of congratulations to Mr. Randy
Abbey on his well-deserved appointment as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Cocoa Board
(COCOBOD) by His Excellency (H.E) President John Dramani Mahama.
This was contained in a statement joitly signed by the President, COFAAA(Nigeria), Comrade Adeola Adegoke, the PRO, COFAAA(Ghana) Nana Yaw Reuben and Secretary, COFAAA(Cote d’Ivoire) Nabyoullah DOSSO
and made available to the Nigerian Newsbite in Abuja on Wednsday.
The statement mentioned that Ghana COCOBOD has long been a beacon of excellence in the cocoa sector, adding that under his visionary leadership, the organisation will continue to thrive, setting new benchmarks in sustainability, innovation and inclusivity.
“Your accomplishment comes at a pivotal time when the cocoa industry faces dynamic challenges, from
climate change to fair pricing and the promotion of value addition within the sector.
“We are confident that your expertise, passion, and dedication will steer COCOBOD and the Ghanaian cocoa industry to even greater heights.
“In addition, COFAAA warmly acknowledges and appreciates the recent visit of ICCO Executive Director, Mitchel Arrion, to Yaounde, Cameroon, for the 111th Ordinary Session of the ICCO, a gesture that underscores the ICCO’s commitment to fostering international collaboration and advancing the welfare of cocoa farmers across Africa.
The statement indicated that the synergies between ICCO, COCOBOD, and other stakeholders will
undoubtedly contribute to creating a more sustainable and inclusive global cocoa ecosystem.
“As an association committed to the welfare of cocoa farmers across Africa, we look forward to collaborating closely with COCOBOD under your leadership to champion initiatives that empower farmers, improve livelihoods, and ensure the long-term sustainability of our cherished African cocoa industry.
