Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, says the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) conversion centre under construction at Limawa in Dutse is over 90% complete and will soon begin test operations.
During an inspection visit marking Nigeria’s 65th Independence anniversary, Namadi described the facility as the first and largest of its kind in Northern Nigeria. He commended the contractors and the Ministry of Power and Renewable Energy for strict compliance with project specifications.
Commissioner for Power and Renewable Energy, Engr. Suraja Musa, said installation works were completed and the centre was ready for test runs.

Namadi used the Independence anniversary to call for policies that directly improve citizens’ lives, build human capital and spur economic growth. He also inspected other projects, including mass housing in Birnin Kudu, Garu Road expansion in Dutse, a skills acquisition centre in Limawa and a renewable energy conversion facility.
He reaffirmed youth empowerment and job creation as key priorities, disclosing plans to partner with the Dangote Group to expand employment opportunities.
