Barau Urges National Unity Amid Global Crises, Seeks Support for Bola Ahmed Tinubu

Against the backdrop of rising global tensions, the Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin, has called on Nigerians to embrace nationalism and rally behind the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Speaking to journalists on Friday after the Eid prayer at the National Eid Ground Abuja, Barau stressed that unity and collective support for the Federal Government are critical to navigating current global challenges.
The two-rakat Eid prayer was led by Illiasu Usman of the National Mosque Abuja.
Barau noted that ongoing crises in parts of the Middle East and Europe have far-reaching implications for countries worldwide, including Nigeria, underscoring the need for citizens to stand firmly behind their government.
“What we need at this time is to continue supporting Mr President and praying for him to succeed in his efforts to bring prosperity to our nation,” he said.
“The world is full of challenges, and Nigeria is not an exception. But with unity and support, we can overcome.”
He added that those working closely with the President are confident in his determination to steer the country toward economic stability and growth.
The lawmaker also congratulated Muslims in Nigeria and across the world on the successful completion of Ramadan, praying for unity, peace, and wisdom for the nation’s leaders.
“May Almighty Allah unite our country and guide Mr President in his efforts to reform the nation and deliver prosperity,” he said.
In his remarks, Imam Illiasu Usman urged leaders at all levels to intensify efforts in tackling insecurity, warning that sustainable development cannot thrive in an atmosphere of violence.
“Nigeria has the capacity to decisively deal with enemies of peace. Government must step up the fight against criminal elements threatening our collective security,” he said.
