***Commends President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda for Strengthening National Security
The Honourable Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, has charged the graduating officers of the Army War College Nigeria (AWCN) Course 9/2025 to lead with integrity, courage, and humility as they step into higher responsibilities within the Armed Forces.
Delivering his keynote address as Special Guest of Honour at the graduation ceremony held on Thursday, 9th October 2025, in Abuja, the Minister described the event as “a true celebration of intellectual rigour, national investment, and military excellence.”
He praised the Chief of Army Staff, the Commandant, and the entire Faculty and Staff of the College for their dedication to grooming operational-level leaders, saying their commitment continues to strengthen Nigeria’s defence architecture.
Badaru congratulated the graduands for their discipline and hard work, urging them to embrace lifelong learning and adaptability in the face of emerging global security challenges.

“Leadership in today’s military demands not just courage but constant learning and the humility to evolve,” he said.
The Minister also expressed deep appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his unwavering support to the Armed Forces under the Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritises military modernisation, joint training, and regional security cooperation.
According to him, the Renewed Hope Agenda “places these graduates at the heart of building a safer and more prosperous Nigeria — where security provides the foundation for national growth and development.”
He saluted the families of the graduating officers, describing them as “the silent pillars whose patience and prayers sustain the nation’s defenders.”
Badaru also acknowledged the participation of allied officers from other African nations, noting that their involvement fostered shared learning and strengthened regional bonds in the collective pursuit of peace and stability.
He concluded by reminding the graduates of the sacred trust they bear in service to the nation:
“You are the guardians of our sovereignty. Serve with pride, uphold the finest traditions of the Nigerian military, and never lose sight of the honour your uniform represents.”
