Badaru Reaffirms Tinubu’s commitment to North-West Security at Kaduna Summit

The Honourable Minister of Defence, H.E. Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, CON, mni, on Saturday, 29th November 2025, joined security leaders, policymakers, and community stakeholders at the North-West Zonal Security Summit convened by the Senate Ad-Hoc Committee on National Security at the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua Hall, Kaduna.
Delivering his goodwill message, the Minister reaffirmed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR’s unwavering commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda, which places national security, unity, and community resilience at the heart of governance. He said the President envisions a nation anchored on shared prosperity, tolerance, and equal respect for all.
Badaru emphasized that strengthening security requires a bold, adaptive and collective approach. He noted the recent progress driven by improved coordination among security agencies and stressed that lasting peace can only be achieved when citizens, communities, and state governments work together.
He commended state governors for their leadership as Chief Security Officers, especially their support through logistics, early-warning structures, and grassroots mobilisation. He also paid tribute to traditional rulers who build trust and mediate conflicts; women and youth groups who drive vigilance and community recovery; and religious leaders and civil society organisations who counter misinformation and promote peace and reintegration.
Reiterating President Tinubu’s directive, the Minister urged the Armed Forces and other security agencies to sustain operational momentum, deepen interagency synergy, strengthen intelligence sharing, and prioritise the safety of schools and rural communities. He praised the Senate for convening the summit, describing it as a crucial platform for dialogue, accountability, and action.
Badaru assured participants that the Ministry of Defence remains fully committed to working with all partners to entrench stability, rebuild community confidence, and advance the Renewed Hope Agenda across the North-West.
The summit drew wide participation, including Kaduna State Governor Senator Uba Sani, the Deputy Governor of Sokoto State, representatives of other governors, traditional rulers, Ulama, civil society organisations, and key security stakeholders.
