The three-day gathering, which opened today, has drawn participants from over 100 countries—including Singapore, Russia, France, Vietnam, Brazil, and Nigeria, alongside representatives of leading international and regional organizations.

Held under the theme “Upholding International Order and Promoting Peaceful Development,” the forum will feature four plenary sessions and eight simultaneous panels, covering key issues such as, Global security governance, Asia-Pacific security cooperation, Safeguarding international order and Building durable regional peace

Badaru’s presence signals Nigeria’s intent to play an active role in global peacebuilding and cooperative security, particularly as conflicts, terrorism, and power rivalries challenge the international order. Defence analysts say Nigeria’s participation strengthens its diplomatic ties with major powers while positioning Africa’s largest democracy as a constructive voice in multilateral security conversations.
