Anambra PDP Guber Hopeful Ezenwafor Shot by Unknown Gunmen in Abuja

Chief Jude Ezenwafor, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for the upcoming Anambra State election, narrowly escaped an assassination attempt on Friday night after being shot by unidentified gunmen in Abuja.

The attack occurred around Wuse 2, where Ezenwafor was reportedly accosted by the assailants while returning home from an appointment.

He is currently receiving treatment at a private hospital in the capital and is scheduled to undergo surgery.

Speaking briefly to journalists early Saturday, Ezenwafor described the incident as a “near-death experience,” recounting the pain and trauma he is enduring as a result of the gunshot injuries.

“I thank God for life. It was a brutal and sudden attack. I never saw it coming,” he said from his hospital bed.

Details surrounding the motive and identity of the attackers remain unclear as security agencies are expected to launch an investigation.
