Adeboye Congratulates Phillip Shaibu on NIS Appointment

Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Grassroots Sports Development, Adeboye Anthony Adeyinka, has congratulated Comrade Phillip Shaibu on his appointment as the Director-General of the National Institute for Sports (NIS), describing the development as both fitting and timely.

In his message, Adeboye highlighted Shaibu’s impressive record in sports development, particularly his contributions during his time as Deputy Governor of Edo State, as clear evidence of his suitability for the role.

“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to my brother and friend, Comrade Phillip Shaibu, on his appointment as Director-General of the National Institute for Sports. This is a well-deserved recognition of his passion, commitment, and track record in sports development,” Adeboye said.

He continued, “Shaibu has long been a prominent figure in Nigeria’s sports sector. I am confident that in his new role, he will bring innovative ideas and strong leadership that align with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.”

Shaibu takes over immediately from Professor Olawale Moronkola and is expected to introduce reforms that will strengthen the Institute and position it as a beacon for sports excellence in Nigeria.
