ABIEXPO 2025: Wike Woos Investors, Reaffirms Commitment to Sustainable Development

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barr. Nyesom Wike, has urged both local and international investors to take advantage of the vast business opportunities within the nation’s capital to drive sustainable growth and inclusive development.
The Minister made the appeal at the opening ceremony of the 2025 Abuja Business and Investment Expo (ABIEXPO), held at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, Abuja.
Represented by the FCT Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, Wike reaffirmed that the FCT Administration remains resolute in transforming Abuja into a beacon of sustainable urban development and a leading investment destination in Africa.
Her Special Assistant (Media) Austine Elemue quoted her to have noted that the summit’s theme, “Empowering Sustainable Growth: Unlocking Potentials in Emerging Markets,” aligns with the vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritizes inclusive economic expansion, infrastructure renewal, and job creation.
“As Abuja embodies Nigeria’s aspirations, our mission—under the guidance of Mr. President—is to make it a safe, investor-friendly city that empowers all citizens,” the Minister stated.
Wike underscored the centrality of infrastructure as the foundation for industrialization and economic advancement, highlighting ongoing projects aimed at expanding and modernizing road networks linking satellite towns, area councils, and rural communities to the city centre.
He commended the Abuja Investment Company Limited (AICL) for organizing the Expo, describing it as a strategic platform for fostering partnerships that will unlock the FCT’s economic potential and attract global investment.
“The FCT Administration remains open to collaboration and innovative ideas that support our vision of a thriving, sustainable capital city,” he added.
In her remarks, the Group Managing Director/CEO of AICL, Ambassador Maureen Tamuno, said the Expo is designed to strengthen investor confidence, stimulate sustainable growth, and consolidate the gains of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Tamuno disclosed that this year’s edition has drawn participants from South Africa, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Botswana, alongside Nigerian entrepreneurs, innovators, and development partners.
She noted that AICL, as the investment arm of the FCT Administration, continues to drive economic transformation through its subsidiaries and strategic projects, adding that this year’s programme includes dedicated Youth and Women’s Days to promote inclusion and ensure that no group is left behind.
“ABIEXPO 2025 represents the next chapter in Abuja’s transformation into a resilient and globally competitive city,” she affirmed.
