Abia Central APC Endorses Tinubu for Second Term, Cites Reforms and Projects

Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia Central Senatorial District have thrown their full support behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second-term bid, citing his bold economic reforms and landmark infrastructure initiatives as justification for continuity.
Operating under the Renewed Hope Partners (RHP), the group issued a communiqué after a strategic meeting in Umuahia, affirming their commitment to Tinubu’s re-election and the success of APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.
The statement followed the APC National Summit held on May 22, 2025, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Signed by RHP Coordinator Pastor Pat Ikechi, PhD, and Secretary Dr. Larry Isaac, the communiqué stated:
“The Renewed Hope Partners, Abia Central, pledge to work assiduously for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR and all candidates of our great party, the APC, in the 2027 general elections.”
The endorsement was based on what the group called Tinubu’s “profound and far-reaching achievements,” including increased state revenue allocations post-fuel subsidy removal, unification of exchange rates, repayment of Nigeria’s $3.4 billion IMF loan, and over 100% salary increases for civil servants.
They also highlighted major infrastructure projects like the 700km Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, the 1,068km Sokoto-Badagry Super Highway, ongoing tax reforms, and a Students’ Loan Scheme to boost access to higher education.

“These efforts demonstrate the President’s capacity to guide Nigeria through complex challenges and build a more stable future,” the group noted.

The RHP pledged to align with the Progressive Governors Forum, APC National Assembly Caucus, and Deputy Speaker Benjamin Okezie Kalu in backing Tinubu’s re-election, describing him as “the right leader for this defining moment.”

The meeting also recalled the May 12 launch of the Abia Central RHP chapter by Rep. Samuel Ifeanyi Onuigbo, member of the NEDC Governing Board, which welcomed defectors from PDP, LP, and NNPP—an indication of growing APC support in the Southeast.

Onuigbo, who chairs the NEDC Committee on Security, Climate Change, and Special Interventions, credited Tinubu’s popularity to “evidence-based, people-focused governance,” saying:

“President Tinubu’s record proves that leadership experience matters. He is the leader Nigeria needs.”

He urged members to spread the message of renewed hope and progress and praised Deputy Speaker Kalu for initiating the RHP movement:

“We shall not fail or falter. We must fly on the wings of Tinubu’s vision for a prosperous Nigeria.”
