Echocho Unveils Seven-Year Scorecard, Lists Projects Across Kogi East

With political activities gradually gathering momentum ahead of the 2027 elections, Senator Isah Jibrin Echocho has unveiled a comprehensive account of his stewardship, detailing what he describes as seven years of legislative representation, constituency development and empowerment initiatives across Kogi East Senatorial District.
The senator’s scorecard, covering the period from 2019 to 2026, highlights hundreds of interventions spanning agriculture, healthcare, education, rural infrastructure, youth empowerment and employment facilitation across the district’s nine local government areas.
In a statement issued by his media team, Echocho said the report was aimed at promoting transparency and keeping constituents informed about his performance in office.
According to him, public office holders owe citizens regular accounts of their stewardship, particularly at a time when demands for accountability and measurable impact have become increasingly prominent in Nigeria’s democratic process.
The report portrays a constituency touched by a broad mix of projects, ranging from the installation of transformers, boreholes and solar-powered streetlights to the construction of classrooms, health facilities, markets and agro-processing centres.
Among the flagship projects highlighted are the establishment of integrated rice and cassava processing plants, construction and rehabilitation of schools and health centres, provision of farming equipment to rural communities, and support programmes targeted at women, youths and small-scale farmers.
The senator also cited interventions in education through classroom construction, distribution of learning materials and sponsorship of legislation seeking the establishment of a Federal University of Education in Ankpa and a Federal Medical Centre in Dekina.
Healthcare featured prominently in the report, with claims of medical equipment donations, supply of drugs to hospitals and primary healthcare centres, construction of clinics and payment of hospital bills for vulnerable residents.
Echocho further highlighted what he described as one of the district’s largest empowerment drives, involving the distribution of buses, speedboats, tricycles, motorcycles, sewing machines, grinding machines, laptops and cash grants to beneficiaries across the nine local government areas.
Beyond physical projects, the senator said he facilitated employment opportunities for constituents in several federal agencies, including the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Nigerian Army, Nigeria Police Force and other public institutions.
On the legislative front, the report outlined a series of sponsored bills and motions addressing education, healthcare, infrastructure development, agricultural financing, power supply and disaster response.
The release of the stewardship document comes at a politically significant moment, as elected officials increasingly seek to showcase their records amid early conversations around the 2027 electoral cycle.
For Echocho, the report appears intended not only as a catalogue of projects but also as a statement of political accountability—an effort to demonstrate how legislative representation can translate into visible development outcomes at the grassroots.
Whether measured through infrastructure, empowerment programmes or legislative advocacy, the senator’s message is clear: his stewardship, he says, should ultimately be judged by the impact felt across communities in Kogi East rather than by political rhetoric alone.
