Lamido Hails PDP Unity at Jigawa Primaries, Eyes 2027 Win

Mustapha Sule Lamido, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for the 2027 election in Jigawa State, has expressed confidence in what he described as the party’s strengthening unity, resilience, and expanding grassroots support across the state.
He spoke during the PDP House of Representatives primary election held in Jigawa State, which attracted a large turnout of party members, including youths, women, elders, and key stakeholders, in what he described as a peaceful and well-coordinated exercise reflecting growing internal cohesion.
Lamido said the level of participation and orderly conduct at the primaries underscores that the PDP remains structured, stable, and united, noting that internal harmony remains critical to the party’s prospects ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He added that despite shifting political dynamics, the PDP continues to maintain strong grassroots presence and credibility across Jigawa State, insisting that the party remains firmly rooted in the people.
According to him, the unity demonstrated at the primaries will translate into stronger electoral performance, stressing that the PDP is strategically positioned and “battle-ready” for the contests ahead.
At the exercise, Hon. Adamu Yakubu Danmaliki was reaffirmed as the party’s consensus candidate for Birninkudu/Buji Federal Constituency.
Lamido, who also participated in the process as the PDP governorship consensus candidate, described the exercise as a clear indication of internal stability and collective decision-making within the party.
He maintained that despite a competitive political environment, the PDP in Jigawa remains disciplined, cohesive, and focused on securing victory in 2027.
