Adeola Pledges Loyalty After APC Consensus Nod in Ogun Governorship Race

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State has formally presented Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola as its consensus governorship candidate for the 2027 elections, following a high-level stakeholders’ meeting in Abeokuta.
The endorsement, which came after consultations among top party leaders including Governor Dapo Abiodun and other senior APC stakeholders, was described as a unifying move aimed at consolidating the party’s hold on the state ahead of the next election cycle.
Accepting the nomination, Adeola pledged unwavering commitment to the party and the people of Ogun State, promising not to “let the APC down” and to build on what he described as the state’s growing industrial and economic profile.
He praised party unity and the sacrifices of stakeholders who stepped down or aligned with the consensus arrangement, describing the decision as a collective effort to strengthen internal cohesion and stability within the party.
Adeola also outlined a vision centred on continuity, economic expansion, and political inclusiveness, vowing to maintain peace within the party and ensure that all stakeholders remain united under a common agenda.
Party leaders present at the meeting expressed confidence in his capacity to lead the state, framing his emergence as part of a broader strategy to sustain APC dominance in Ogun State.
The development marks an early consolidation of forces within the ruling party as political preparations intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections.
