Echocho Bets on People, Promises New Life for Idah Hotel
Senator Isah Jibrin (Echocho) has doubled down on grassroots development in Kogi East, rolling out an empowerment programme for youths and artisans while unveiling plans to completely overhaul the long-neglected Idah Hotel.
At an event that drew beneficiaries from all 41 wards of the Idah Federal Constituency, the senator described human capital development as the backbone of sustainable progress. Participants received vocational training and financial support aimed at strengthening small businesses and promoting self-reliance.
Echocho said the initiative was designed to tackle unemployment and curb social vices by creating real economic opportunities at the community level. “As a representative of the people, my priority is to ensure that our youths and artisans are not left behind,” he stated.
Beyond empowerment, the lawmaker announced an ambitious plan to revive Idah Hotel, once a thriving hospitality hub but now fallen into disrepair. According to him, the proposed overhaul will include modern renovations, upgraded facilities, and a new management structure aligned with contemporary hospitality standards.
He described the hotel project as a strategic investment to stimulate tourism, create jobs, and boost local economic activity across the constituency.
Community leaders and beneficiaries praised the senator’s interventions, calling them timely and impactful. Echocho, in turn, urged beneficiaries to use the support wisely, assuring constituents of his continued commitment to people-focused projects that deliver lasting value.
